I am turning 39 this weekend and approaching the big 4-0 in 2025. #Justsaying.... 🤓🤣I am not one to have enormous dreams and aspirations in a business sense, as I believe my own development, growth and progression comes into play thanks to my own focus of next steps and forward thinking within the constraints of "what is within my limits/control".My business acumen and style is something I only truly began to embrace once I started my transition because beforehand it was more of a survival focus.Now, with my years of leadership development and skills, I can look at ways to keep the training, learning and re-learning moving forward 💪 This week, whilst standing in the stands looking pitchside at Colchester United Football, I looked at manifesting my own "Hannah Waddingham from Ted Lasso" chairwoman vibes!! A little boost to make me realise I am doing a great job being the woman in work that I am thriving on. Being part of the conversations and standing there on my own merits. I had a little boost of "Waddingham" inspired confidence! Obviously, my dreams of owning a football club is a huuuuuge one, but I guess there's no harm in seeing a little bit of that "Ted Lasso" empowerment to help me move forward 😀 #LittleRambleAboutNothing #Turning39 #TedLasso #WomeninLeadership #TransWomenatWork #Inclusion

And that's a wrap for all my #Pride antics for 2024, with the amazing #WE campaign from Sky Creative !!Brighton Pride was my last stop on the crazy few months of celebrating, advocating, sharing, and raising awareness during the insanely busy #Pridemonth.It's been a pleasure to share this time with the awesome people in the #LGBTQ Network! Pride isn't just a month or so a year, it's all year and let's be honest, there is still so much to do in terms of ensuring equality and equity is out there for people in the LGBTQ Community! We need more allies, more people to listen, and more people to understand that the hate and persecution is still out there and we need support.The past few weeks have highlighted mass outrage, misinformation and hateful place certain people are in, which is getting out of hand, not just for LGBTQ people, but for plenty of other minorities and/or people who don't fit a certain mould.As for me, I will always listen and reflect, look to advocate and support whilst raising awareness on plenty of issues, but I am not the expert on everything and will always look to learn (and relearn) myself as I go.Anyway, thanks for the memories from this Pride campaign. Another achievement unlocked! In this strange, unfiltered and exhausting (yet euphoric) journey into my own authenticity has hot another mile stone.Now, getting a passport is a very mundane thing in everyday life usually, but for any trans person out there, it is another step into being able to be seen as their true self. It is part validation, but also part self-assessment in your transitional journey.I finally have a passport that legally states my name and gender(!) - even though it states sex, I mean I have had these discussions before and it does prove that all this talk about policing certain "same sex spaces" become less about the safety of said sex but more an ability to prevent and gatekeep a small minority of people....anyway....I have a passport that I can be proud to show at any point in my life, irrespective to how miserable I look in the photo! I have attached two photos of me looking happy and also a time hop pic for measure.For anyone who isn't aware, changing your passport to reflect your gender is not simple, it still involves plenty of documents and even a written and signed letter from your GP who states they are happy with your gender identity, which as we know is quite difficult in this current climate as certain GPs are not able to support everyone.So, today I acknowledge my next steps whilst also taking into account the levels of ignorance and misguidedness still out there.#IDontKnowHowToBeTrans ##thisiswhattranslookslike #transisbeautiful #thisisme #nextsteps

#IDontKnowHowToBeTrans - A recent post on some of my troubles in understanding how to be trans…..•I don't know how to be Trans and still manage to find my keys in my purse on the first try.•I don't know how to be Trans and keep a straight face when someone suggests I try "transcendental meditation" to alleviate dysphoria.•I don't know how to be Trans and avoid spending hours in front of the mirror perfecting my "I woke up like this" look. (Answer, it takes a while")•I don't know how to be Trans and resist the urge to respond to "You look so different!" with "Thanks, I just upgraded my human software."•I don't know how to be a trans woman and gracefully navigate a room full of cisgender women without feeling like a total fraud and worry that I will wake up from a dream!•I don't know how to be a trans woman without having the weird moment of "How do i drink this beer less like a man" when in the pub!•I don't know how to be a trans woman and explain to my hairdresser that I have no idea what to do with my hair as I spent many years of it short and boring!•I don't know how to be a trans woman and explain when I am having a really bad tucking moment!•I don't know how to be a trans woman and resist the temptation to respond to "How do you do your makeup so well?" with "Oh, you know, just years of secretly practicing in front of the bathroom mirror harnessing shame and fear"•I don't know how to be a trans woman and avoid the urge to turn every shopping trip into a mission to find the perfect shade of lipstick to match my soul.•I don't know how to be a trans woman and explain to my friends that my wardrobe consists of 90% black ,not because it's an elegant colour for many occasions, but because it's ultra slimming and helps hide my spanx!https://lnkd.in/ewRNGCeA
