It was nice to have her as the pursuer but Con undoubtedly assumes the reins and it's hot! I enjoyed how it played out. I especially like how Con decides to approach things with his daughter, Halley. Does he wait longer than he should've? Perhaps, but he does it in an adult manner. That said, it felt a little incomplete as her reaction to their relationship was a major factor in them hiding it and her reaction was never fully expressed beyond her initial shock.

Age gap books are my favorite. I *almost* didn’t read this because I thought “Taboo Daddies” was referencing daddy kink which isn’t my jam. Figured I’d just stop if it wasn’t working for me. Instead I read it in one day. Taboo is this being age gap, Best Friend’s Dad/Daughter’s Best Friend, and work place romance. Daddy comes from him already being a father.

Con (42) agrees to hire on his daughter’s best friend and recent college graduate, Lily (23). While slightly predictable, it was in that snuggle up & comfort read kind of way. I know it’s going to be all right, but that doesn’t keep me from laughing, shedding a few tears, and being excited when these two find their HEA.

Con and Lily have hot sex but also spend a lot of time dating - even if in secret. There’s a lot of surprises for these two and I liked the way Black handled everything.

Sometimes the brain just really wants a steamy escape… I didn’t get that here.

For such a highly rated book I thought FOR SURE I would not be let down. Is my steam-meter broken? 🤣 It didn’t read as taboo, the steam was barely there, and the end came up outta nowhere like the author just got bored writing and had to wrap it up in a snap.

I feel like I read a different book than everyone else.

Lily had to defer college for a year while she saved up some money. Her sorority sister got her a job working with her father. Con isn't happy about his daughter getting him to give a job to a friend and worries the friend is a user. When no one is there to pick Lily up from the airport Con gets another call about it. He is abrupt to Lily and drops her off quickly. However, once she starts the job things get complicated because he starts wanting her and knows that she wants him. Will they give in to each other? Can they be together?

This is an amazing story that will draw you in from the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. It's a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Natasha L. Black has written a really good forbidden romance between Lily and her best friend's grumpy dad Con. After his daughter Halley, Con very reluctantly agrees to give Lily a job with his company and allow her to live in Halley's condominium for a year while she saves up for law school. The chemistry and tension was strong between them from the very beginning. Will Con and Lily allow the many obstacles in their path keep them apart?

His Daughter's Best Friend, Book 1 of the Taboo Daddies series, was about Lily Anderson, a law student and best friend to Halley Walker, and Conall "Con" Walker, owner and CEO of the Walker Agency, a talent business that helped actors find and/or make their careers.
Con and Lily met when his daughter and Lily moved into their college dorm rooms. However, it was years later when Halley talked her father into hiring Lily at his talent agency so she could save money for law school. After she arrived in L.A. and Con saw her for the first time in years, he did his best to hide his reaction to her. But Lily, who experienced similar emotions, was determined to pursue him...so she did until several months into her internship at his company, they both finally gave in to their feelings and began a secret, yet tumultuous relationship.
While the Blurb stated that it was Con's ex who eventually told Halley about the relationship between her father and her best friend, it was actually Con who told her.
There was a lot of fluff n stuff in this story that could have been left out. For example, the MMC and his friends had several meetings that had nothing to do with the romance of the book. Con had several meetings with clients that were more of a distraction than anything else. Those did nothing but hinder the flow of the story.
Another thing that was more than a little disconcerting was the fact that the author had problems remembering what she had just written. For instance, the MMC met with a friend named Landon for lunch one day when they were met with the FMC. Later the FMC was talking to the MMC's daughter and in her thoughts she said the MMCs friend's name was Julian.
The MMC was more of a beta male than he was an alpha male, which didn't work well with the fact he was a Hollywood talent agent that helped actors get good deals and good roles. He was more wishy-washy than he was firm and solid in his beliefs...too easily pushed around. He was what would generally be described as a "soft touch".
The FMC, although still having her V-card, came across as more experienced...and pushy...when it came to pursuing the MMC. Seventeen years his junior, Lily was too forward for her character's role. Neither of the two main characters fit in their appointed slots, and that was just another reason that this story didn't work so well.
There was more than enough angst and drama to complete several stories. In fact, the author had so much going on in this one novella that it could have easily been broken up into multiple stories. There were so many unresolved issues it made the head spin. In fact, I couldn't give it more than a two-star rating. It had all the spice one could ask for, and it even had the heartbreak and the twists and turns of a massive rollercoaster, but it had too many loose ends that never found a solution.

His Daughter's Best Friend is book one in Taboo Daddies series. An age gap trope, taboo, forbidden romance, daughter best friend, insta-love story. It's beautifully written with great characters. Halley and Lily is best friend but Lily went deferred law school for a year because she didn't get the financial aid that she applied for. Halley dad runs a very successful business and is offering an internship, she went to him and convinced him to hire me. She really needed the internship pay law school debts. Con is goregous, frightening, sexy, bad-tempered that he agreed to Hally's badgering to help out her friend. It has always been Con and Halley and they have a very close relationship that and his business as been the only constant in his life. For year Con had been busy raising Halley and running his business he never had anytime for dates and he never saw any woman that interest him. However, when Con saw Lily it was insta-lust and he knew that he was going to be in trouble.
Their chemistry was magnetic and charge. The two tried to fight their attraction but it was too much and once they succumb to it. It was all consuming and secretive. They were living in their bubble all the the while with Con greedy vindictive ex on the loose blackmailing him for more money, and having him followed by a PI to get dirt on him to use it to turn his daughter against him. Con's world exploded when the PI gave him the heads up that he have dirt on him that he has been sleeping with his daughter's best friend. He tried to pay him off but was unsuccessful. While Lily is at his penthouse waiting to give new that he was going to be a father again. But he got there he treated her like crap all because he didn't know what to do and was worried about losing his daughter. Lily feeling hurt and uncertain decided to head back home to Ohio to let her mom help raise her baby. Con decided to beat his ex to the punch by coming clean with Halley about the relationship with her best friend and it wasn't good. Will Con lose the relationship that he has with Halley because of what he has done? Will he ever find out that he's going to be dad again? What will happen to the relationship between Halley and Lily?

It was really hard to rate this one because while I really wanted to like this book I just didn’t like the MCs for most of it and that ruined it for me. Con was such an asshole. He didn’t stop being an asshole til like 66% and then he said some nice stuff and then was an asshole again. He was 40 years old but had that little kid on the playground mentality of bullying a girl he liked. Like seriously grow the f*ck up. Lily was so obsessed with him because he was handsome. That was literally all she could say about why she wanted him so bad that she let him treat her like sh*t. He tells her to stay away from him and she takes that as a challenge because apparently she didn’t believe his words. Have some f*cking dignity. I didn’t like any of the secondary characters, all of them were assholes honestly. I didn’t like Halley and I hated that the book ended with no resolution between her and lily. The ending was super anticlimactic. He said one sorry for treating her like sh*t and she completely melted 🙄. Probably the only thing I liked about this book was the writing and that is the only reason it got 3 stars. Sadly I will not be continuing the series.

This book was a bit long but that's ok. I need all of the info. And, I so want to write spoilers, but, I will refrain. You have to read this one for yourself.

She needed a job to save for school. She didn’t know her friend called in a favor to her dad. Lily was going to be staying in Haley’s condo. Lily had met Haley’s dad a few times. She did not mean to fall for him but she did. She went to this restaurant with a co worker and he spotted her. He wanted her but he couldn’t have her. His buddies new different. They met every Tuesday at this rooftop bar. They started teasing him. He was having lunch with Landon and in walk Lily. Landon knew Con was in trouble. He was acting possessive at the club and told her they were leaving. He kissed her for all his worth. The flash from a camera brought him back to reality. He needed her to stay away. Lily took it as a challenge. She came up with a plan. Con’s office received a contact that needed to be signed . His executive assistant was eight months pregnant and was tired she asked Lily to drop the contract at his penthouse office. Lily couldn’t believe she was in his apartment. She went looking through his bedroom and in walk Con. He couldn’t resist her anymore. He gave in. She wanted him just as bad. They both were wrong but could not fight it anymore. He told his friends about them but how was going to tell his daughter. He kept it hidden until the PI his ex wife hired threatened to out him and Lily. He had no choice but to tell his daughter. He already how it was going to go. He always put Haley above everything else. She is an adult now and he did his part

Halley is trying to help her friend Lily who had to drop out of law school for a year because she could not get the financial aid to pay her tuition. So now she needs a place to stay and a job while she saves up money.

Not letting Lily know her plan, Halley asks her dad, Conall Walker (“Con”), about an entry level position Lily could have. She would also need free use of Halley’s condo for a year; otherwise her salary would be used just to pay the rent. With Halley away at school, the condo is empty anyway. Con figures Lily could be using his daughter for a free ride. So he will offer her an internship at Walker Entertainment Agency and keep an eye on her. He is ready to take her to the airport to leave the first time there is trouble. Selling Lily on the idea took Halley a little more energy, but Lily realized the job would give her good connections when she went into entertainment law.

When Lily and Con finally meet, the attraction was powerful between them from the very start. But the threat from his selfish, vindictive ex-wife who is looking to force him to pay additional money, even if it takes blackmail and hiring a PI to get dirt on him, is very real. Will he be foolish enough to start something with Lily that his ex can use against him? And what will the potential repercussions be?

I thought I'd find a quick story with this book with an insta-love and OTT romance. But this was a complete and wonderful story!

Lily is a young woman who quits her studies for a year, simply because she can't afford it. Looking for a job so that she can save to get back to school, her friend helps her by arranging a job with her father where she can also live for free.
When Con sees her, he is immediately attracted to Lily. But knowing that she is a friend of her daughter makes him keep his distance. Lily also feels the attraction between them and after a sizzling kiss between them she decides to go for it.
Keeping their relationship a secret can break them and keeping it a secret from her friend, his daughter, seems impossible.

I found Con's struggle not to give in to lust clear and palpable. Lily was clearly younger and believed in a happy ending.
I thought it was a well put together story with room for depth and choices made

I really enjoyed this story it was a story about Lily who wanted to become a lawyer but after she graduated from college she couldn’t get the funding for her education. Her best friend Halley talked her father into giving Lily an internship. Halley’s father Conlan, was the owner of a talent agency, he was angry that his daughter put him in the position he found himself in with providing a job for Lily.

What started off as a resentment towards her turn to an attraction that he tried to deny until Lily caught him at a tender moment and they started an illicit relationship. The story was quite involved, talking about money hungry ex-wives and hiding secrets from his daughter and breaking Lily’s heart. There is eventually are you happy ending but there are a lot of hills to climb before that happens.

A really enjoyable, hot read! Lily gets a job working for her best friends father, Con. There is an instant attraction between the two however they both try to fight it given the repercussions it would have. With Con’s ex-wife also trying to dig up dirt on him he knows he has to be extra careful. Lily however decides she wants Con, she has never had feelings towards any man like this, and even though she knows her friendship with her best friend is at risk she still believes Con is worth it. Just when things seem to be going well between them, and Lily prepares to surprise Con with some news, he decides he has to end things with Lily and tell his daughter the truth before someone else does, leaving Lily heartbroken. A really enjoyable age gap romance book, great characters, good storyline and a happy ending.

At first it would seem that Con has everything, his business is successful, and women throwing themselves at him, but he is restless and feels something is missing. His daughter Halley, makes him offer a job to her best friend and sorority big sister Lily, for Lily need a job to help her with her finances (so she can finish her law degree). The sparks start to fly the moment they see each other. Will they take the risk and give into their attraction? And if they do will it destroy their relationship with Halley? I loved the steam between Con and Lily, the interactions between Con and his friends, and how the story plays out between Lily and Con.

She Got His Motor Running -
When Lily accepted the offer to work at her best friend’s dad’s company, it was meant to be a stop gap. However, everything changed the moment she met best friend’s dad. Con was shaken to the core the moment Lily stepped into his life, as he had always stayed away from relationships, but spending time with Lily had him reconsidering his decision. The back and forth of their relationship made for an exciting read, but my heart went out to Con, because of the hell he went through due to his ex-wife’s shenanigans. This is another phenomenal romance story, which is what I have come to expect from this talented author.

I really enjoyed this read. Interesting characters had me hooked from the start.
Lily is Haileys best friend and Big Sister. They grew up in two very different worlds. Lily from a down to earth family worked hard for everything she wanted and has plans to be a lawyer. Haileys father is a big success in LA, she has never wanted for anything.
When Lily has to defer a year due to lack of funds Hailey comes up with a plan to help her. She asks her dad for help.
Con can't turn his daughter down, but I don't think falling for his daughters best friend was what she meant.
A fun story full of lust, love, passion and secrets. The players caught my attention and did not let go.
I definitely recommend this book and author.

I enjoyed this book. I would recommend it to anyone who loves reading age gap romances. Lily needs a job so her best friend gets her a job with her dad Con. When Lily goes to work for Con you can feel the intense chemistry & tension surrounding them. Resisting temptation soon appears futile & pent up tension boil over into an intense night together.
Will Con & Lily get their HEA or will secrets, lies & a vengeful ex destroy it all?

For Natasha L Black book i was a little disappointed, only because i felt this book was a little unfinished. All through the book Con and Lily either tried to resist each other or they were all over each other. Then all of a sudden Con was cold as ice. I didn't like how he treated his daughter Halley, I can understand Con is a man as well as her Dad but still. Also the ending did Con, Lily and Halley make up in the end. It was left unfinished. Disappointing.

This is book one in the Taboo Daddies and in this installment we have the taboo forbidden romance between Lily and her best friend’s grumpy father, Con. Lily needs money for law school, so with the insistence of her best friend Halley, she helps arrange an internship for her at her father’s firm. There’s an immediate attraction between Con and Lily, and they both fight their desires, until they can no longer resist the temptation or deny what’s between them. A really terrific start to this series and I look forward to reading the next!

Having to defer college for a year to make some money to pay for it, her sorority sister got her a job with her father for the year. Man is he a hot dad. But he's her best friends father, she can't let these thoughts go to far. Helping his daughters friend for a year is the last thing he wants to do, but he will do anything for her. Having her so young they both grew up a lot together over the years. But he can't stop the feelings when she walks in the room. This is a story that pulls you in from the beginning. Everyone deserves happiness no matter the age or how you met.

Getting tired of babies

Why can't we get a book that is a really good romance that doesn't end up with a pregnancy? I really broth into this story because is was just different enough to capture my attention. But it didn't take much to see where it would end when neither our H or h thought about a condom the first time they were together? Come on, people, if you don't take protection seriously, how can I take your writing seriously? Overall this is a very interesting story with good solid characters. You won't be sorry you grabbed a copy.

A delightful taboo romance read! Lily is best friend to Con’s daughter, he’s always try to give his daughter everything she needed and when she wants him to hire Lily as an intern in his company he doesn’t know what hits him. What happens next is a sweet yet steamy taboo/age gap romance story that gives you all the delicious heat level and a HEA. I enjoyed how their story evolved from the first touch to so much more.

Wowsa this book was so good and I was hooked from the beginning until the end and the storyline flowed throughout the book. Lily is BFF with Hally and when when Hally goes behind her back to help her out will it all blow up in her face?Coniston Hally dad when she asked him for a favor will destroy everyone he love.

This is a well written older man/younger woman , best friend's dad romance with strong characters who have a steamy chemistry. The author does a great job developing the story and painting her scenes. She brings drama, anxiety and a secret along with the romance and love. The story moves fluidly and is an enjoyable read.
