Can I use my EBT card to get into the Pittsburgh Zoo? ›

Guests who receive food assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can gain $3 general daytime Zoo admission per person by presenting both their participating Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and matching photo ID.

The zoo layout is a circular path that if followed you will pass by the enclosures of the animals. Taking your time, your visit should take about three hours.

Outside Food & Drink

Visitors can bring in “bagged lunch-style” food or leave food or belongings in their vehicles (at their own risk) and return to the car to get them throughout the day. If the visitor chooses to do this, a receipt is required for reentry to the Zoo.

Free parking is available in the main parking lot at the Butler Street entrance. Although the Zoo's mailing address is One Wild Place, use 7370 Baker Street to get to the main parking lot. Groups can rent a charter bus in Pittsburgh to get to the Zoo with ease.
