The 38 best Korean BBQ spots in Las Vegas (2024)

Best Friend is a Korean-Mexican fusion restaurant which is owned and operated by noted Los Angeles chef Roy Choi. The entrance to the restaurant is reminiscent of a bodega, with funky neon lights and an eclectic selection of booze. The dining room features unique fusion eats that are made famous on Choi's food truck, Kogi. In addition to Korean street food staples, Best Friend offers unique dishes such as glass noodles with tamarind black cod stew and ginger.

The complimentary rolls were amazing- you might need to ask for them if your server doesn’t offer them to you right away.Amazing food, great vibe, service was pretty good- I would recommend this spot for a group of friends or a date night. The inside (darker) area needs reservations, but me and two friends were able to get seated in the front area right away (no wait on a Wednesday night).

Very good food and great service. Make sure to call ahead quite a few days in advance to get on the list. They are always booked. They do take walk-in for the bar and dining. However dining you may end up waiting for up to an hour to an hour and a half. That's at least what we experienced. But normally the bar area filters out pretty quickly. We got three items and two drinks and it was about $100 so it's definitely not a cheap cheap place. But so worth every penny.

I was able to get a seat at the bar immediately after they opened the doors at 5pm. We ordered the garlic chicken and the spicy pork, and we could have gotten away with just ordering one dish. They were huge and definitely shareable. The spicy pork was my favorite. There was so much flavor to it! The complimentary bread rolls were not the best and kind of tasted store bought. The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. I loooove all the stickers and trinkets in the front bar. Definitely worth checking out!

An absolute must visit place if your in Las Vegas. Everything was absolutely perfect, full stop. We did the chef sampler and I can honestly say it's the best meal I've eaten in my 30 years on this planet. Not eating here would be a grave mistake.

After a tough loss at the blackjack tables, we definitely needed something to pick us up and the food here pulled through. The tacos came in a set of 3 but you can get an additional 1 for $8. Although they were small, they packed a ton of flavor and was a great start to our food journey here. Next we received the meat platter which was perfect to share amongst the 4 of us. Meats were nicely seasoned and tender. I would say my favorite dish out of them all was the Mac n cheese. It was addicting!

Everything about our dinner at Best Friend really exceeded expectations! Would definitely recommend coming here.Atmosphere was great, lively and interesting with a cool diner like entry and then a sprawling back area with live dj. We were seated promptly and had a reservation. The service is really where the staff hooked it up. Being in town for a bachelor party and a friends birthday we were treated with 2 free desserts, a round of shots for the table, and one extra drink (which was just an accident) but still very generous of the staff. It put everyone in a great mood and we felt we were being well taken care of.Food all around was delicious. From the slushie boozy drinks to the meat trio platter. Everything was tasty and went well together. Would definitely come back here if I was in Vegas again. Make a reservation.

The vibe in here is so cool, even if you're not in the back room. Food and service was spectacular. Spicy pork with kimchi fried rice. Some of the best food I've had. Definitely my best meal in Las Vegas. Tim was an incredible server and gave us great advice on what to do after dinner. Don't skip this place if you love good food and great dining experience ls

Everything is so delicious. The Sampler Platter is a great value. It is a good sharing dish. Rolls are are delicious. Great for dipping into left over kimchi juices. You can sit at the front bar area that is designed like a convenience store. In the back is a larger dining area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great experience all around.

October 2021We really enjoyed our Korean/Mexican dinner there.Nice staff, great co*cktails and good food (one of the best meals we had in Vegas), in particular Uni Dynamite rice!Prices are high.

Definitely made for non-asians. Very disappointing ... the soup looked and tasted like recooked leftovers. Fried chicken was too salty. The taco was ok but definitely had way better ones elsewhere. Will not return.Giving 3 stars because the service was excellent.

Monica Y — Google review

I can’t say enough good things about Best Friend. Everything was DELICIOUS. We tried the kimchi fried rice. This was the crunchiest most delectable fried rice. We also got the tacos which were a little spicy but still very good. You’ve got to get the shrimp. It was the fattest best flavor shrimp I may have ever had. The Korean bbq wings were perfectly fried. Finish out your dinner with the huge shaved ice dessert. You won’t be disappointed The decor was so cool. GO HERE.

Lauren B — Google review

Food overall was very good. BBQ platter was the best item we had. Kimchi fried rice was okay, but wasn't what all others reviews had built it up to be. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was loud and dark, but the music playing and environment made me feel like I was back in LA in the early 90s.

Loooved everything about it. The front bodega was so cool & the ambiance and food were EXCELLENT. We even got a visit from the owner Roy who happened to be in town and at the restaurant while we were dining. The wait staff and floor managers were so attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the entire night. They were so friendly, professional, and anticipated things well. Will definitely have to come again!!

Being Las Vegas locals and an extreme fan of Korean food, my family and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. At one point, it was very challenging to get reservations to this restaurant because of its popularity and the lack of timing on our part. The day to try this place out had finally arrived on 25 Nov 2023, to celebrate our daughter's "early" birthday before she had to head back to college. When we walked in, we were met with unfortunate news that they didn't have a table waiting for us because in their system, they had us down for a 22 Nov 2023 reservation. We originally had our reservation on that day; however, we had to move it to the 25th because of family events that took priority. When my wife had called to change the reservation, the person on the phone assured to her that everything had been changed and that our new reservation was on 25 Nov 2023 - clearly this wasn't the case. You would think that this would be the end of our night and that we'd have to find a new place to eat for my daughter's birthday dinner? NO! Thankfully for us, we had Lilian working as the hostess. She did such a remarkable job in squeezing us in at a table because of the mix-up and was very friendly and professional about it while coordinating this effort. She even managed to seat us at the "Chef's Table" which was a unique experience and clearly unexpected. Needless to say, a special shout-out to Lilian for setting this up for us!When we sat down, we experienced another dose of professionalism, attentiveness, and friendliness in our main server by the name of Maria C. (MC). She did such a superb job which made the evening unforgettable. One thing I noticed was how MC consistently filled our water glasses - this was truly phenomenal! This is typically a service you'd experience at a 4-dollar sign restaurant. Regardless, she was extraordinary to my family and I.We ordered the Lumpia and Korean Wings; Chef Menu consisting of: Banchan, Kogi Tacos, Slippery Shrimp, Kimchi Fried Rice, Garlic Chicken, Kalbi, Date Cake, and Strawberry Cheesecake. Everything was great, but the star performers on this list were the Kogi Tacos, Korean Wings, and as odd as it sounds, the rolls (my daughter is the carb queen). Whereas, all the items were great, I will say that the Kimchi Fried Rice and Garlic Chicken wasn't as good as I was hoping. The fried rice didn't have that traditional Korean-style fried rice feel to it...maybe because of its darker color? (yes, I understand that this is a fusion-type restaurant)...I don't know but I can definitely say that I've had better. Also, the texture in the chicken was slightly less than adequate. The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was reasonable. If you were to ask the gluttonous, 23-year old me, years and years ago, then I'd wish there were more food. But since I understand what "normal" portions are and the fact that I'm older and can't eat as much, I feel that this place serves the perfect amount of food for the price you pay. Thank you Best Friend/Roy Choi for supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and its Veterans - this is profoundly commendable and appreciated. I highly recommend this place to all locals and visitors.

My wife and I stopped by best friend before we left for the airport after a week in Vegas. We love the Park MGM because of how clean it is and the selection of restaurants available. Best Friends is a unique Korean and Californian/Mexican fusion restaurant. We had reservations for 5:30 pm, which I believe is when they open because they had a line at the door. Many people waiting did not have reservations and did not get a seat in the dining room. The menu selection was creative and tasty. We love Korean food. My wife thought the Kimchi was the best she ever had. The bread service was soft and fluffy. For an entrée we had the short ribs tacos and lumpia. Everything we had was great. The service was okay.. below par for vegas but not terrible, and it might have been because they just opened. They didn't come around often enough, and we had to ask multiple times for drinks.Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again soon.

I ate here about a year ago, and was pleased it was as good as I remember. This time I had a reservation and was able to sit in, and it was a great atmosphere. The food was excellent. No matter what you get, it's good. Staff are also very friendly and nice. Decor is also fun.Try the Korean Chicken Wings appetizer. Well worth it and some of the best fried wings I've ever had.

Fantastic atmosphere and great food. We had the prix fixe menu that included 5 courses and a champagne co*cktail plus bread. Everything was fantastic, especially the salad. Total cost was $160 for two.

Been on my bucket list since it opened and it didn’t disappoint. Reservations were booked but the front shop area is first come first serve. The food is great. And the service was great coming from sitting at the bar. The carbonara was a great surprise. Definitely get the kimchi fried rice and save room for the awesome Date Cake. You won’t be disappointed

Ryan K — Google review

Everything we ate was great, and our server was super sweet and bubbly. We had the short rib tacos and the fish tacos. The date cake was outstanding. I wish the salmon roe stick on the fish tacos was a bit smaller to get a more even bite. The music and vibes were so cool.

Jessica C — Google review

We shared 3 dishes and all of them were delicious but the pork belly bowl was exceptional. The short ribs tacos were my second favorite. The veggies noodle were my least favorite just because I feel like there was not a lot of vegetables. The orange cream slushie was very good as well as the peach tea.

Lively and contemporary eatery serving Korean American fare, reflecting the experience of Roy Choi. The restaurant has an eclectic entry, which opens up into a large dining room. Service is fast and friendly, dishes come out as they are ready. Large-format drinks are available. This popular spot gets busy, recommend making a reservation. This is a function concept, not an authentic Korean experience.

This place is a VIBE - really fun dinner spot! Awesome drinks (get the tower!), delicious fusion foods (such a treat!), phenomenal energy/vibe/atmosphere (great DJ and servers in the matching track suits!!). Highly recommend, will be back, keep on keeping on!!Roy Choi’s Best Friend is an indelible mash-up of bodega, bar and restaurant, serving Chef Roy’s greatest hits and more from his famous LA food truck, Kogi to his restaurants and other ventures.📍Las Vegas, NV 🎰#BestFriendVegas #Vegas #CleanPlateClurb

5 Stars!Best Friends by Roy Choi at MGM in Las Vegas offers a fantastic dining experience. The service is top-notch—friendly and efficient. The lively atmosphere with a live DJ creates a fun vibe, perfect for a dinner date or a big dinner party. The restaurant boasts ample seating indoors, but reservations are recommended due to its popularity.Instagram enthusiasts will love the numerous photo opportunities. The food is outstanding, with everything made to order and bursting with delicious flavors. Portion sizes are shareable, making it great for group dining. Prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food justifies every penny. On a fortunate visit, I had the pleasure of sitting at the chef's table, providing a beautiful behind-the-scenes experience watching the kitchen in action.Best Friends is a must-visit for an enjoyable culinary adventure in Vegas.Enjoy!

Best friend was so great! My boyfriend and I are traveling from out of town and we both got the chef menu - $75 per person and it was more than worth it. The food kept coming out and had us stuffed by the end. The watermelon co*cktail was refreshing. I genuinely have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. The staff was friendly, the live dj was fun.

I was super hyped to be a bestie to best friend but I left wanting to end our friendship! For starters I was going to sit at the bar but the bartender ignored me. I opted for a table since I had a reservation. My server Marissa barely cracked a smile. The food runners would slam food on my table and I requested siracha and it never came. I had to flag my server for it. The entire staff didn’t want to be there. The vibes and music were the only saving grace. My Korean tacos sucked!! They were overcooked and rock solid. I’ve had way better in L.A! The bread was cold, the kimchi was boring and my drink was weak. The aguachiles were decent. I souped them up!! But it was not worth 30$. The scallops were paper thin. I WILL NOT BE BACK!! BESTIE YOU FIRED!!

We reserved this place as the final meal before leaving Vegas on a family trip. The atmosphere was quite nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was too expensive for the quality. The best dishes were the short rib tacos, decent portions, the sourness to the slaw was a nice contrast, short ribs were probably the best meat out of what we tasted that night, reasonably flavored and tender, and the corn tortillas were well prepared at least. The house salad was well done, light and crisp. I wouldn’t recommend the bbq sampler, the garlic chicken was over sauced, and the spicy pork was kind of a giant congealed mess. The short ribs lacked flavor and was surprisingly dry compared to the other meats drenched in sauce. I was really disappointed to see ?chef, cook, simply get some raw onions and toss the cooked meats on to and sent it over to the customers. The onions barely had char. The pork belly rice used Korean rice at least, but was way overcooked and stuck together in over moistened clumps. The house broccoli and daikon, weren’t really bite sized and didn’t really go with the dish in a way you would expect to eat them together. Each were an awkwardly cut sized so either you ate them on your own or had to pick at each to enjoy the entire flavors of the dish. Maybe it’s the style Roy Choi is going for, but it’s probably just me thinking I couldn’t enjoy the rice bowl like I would normally do. Banchan was basically boiled spinach and bean sprouts in what I’m guessing lightly salted water if that. No meaningful flavors compared to the slap in the face the bbq sampler or the pork belly forced. Overall, the atmosphere is great, likely for the clientele, however the I wouldn’t come here for the food. Would probably have tacos el Gordo and recommend any mom and pop shop in LA for Korean. Vegas has a lot more tasteful options.

This was such a great experience! We reserved a table a few nights in advance. Upon arrival at the front of the restaurant, which appears to be like a little bodega of sorts, we were greeted and only waited a minute or two for our able. The back of the restaurant is dimly lit and can be quite loud (but this is typical for a LV restaurant!). The service was amazing, and the food was even better! Highly recommend for a more laid back but still very nice dining experience on the strip.

Courtney K — Google review

Came with a group awhile back and it did not disappoint. We had the Chef Menu and everything was delicious. On top of that the service and ambiance was fantastic. If you are in Vegas, I definitely recommend checking this place out. Oh and the storefront and store is a nice touch and a must see!

S M — Google review

This is an absolutely perfect restaurant and by far the best culinary experience on the strip. Well, it’s hard to choose exactly which dish you should get, and you can’t really go wrong with anything, you gotta get the chefs tasting menu. For only $75 per person, which really is a steel in this city, you get to taste flavors from Mexico to Korea, melting in Los Angeles, and transported to Vegas. I cannot express how much food there was, and how flavorful every single dish was. The vibe is so fun and cool, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The banchan is excellent as are the rolls, I got a few more. The short rib tacos are perfection, the garlic chicken and galbi platter is enormous and so tender. The kimchi fried rice is everything you want it to be. The slippery shrimp is the best bang bang shrimp you’ve had. And the sticky toffee pudding is better than almost any you’ll have in the UK. Also the bartender and my server Evan was awesome and super personable. Go here

During last week’s Bar & Restaurant Expo - this was Tuesday’s dinner reservation. There were 9 of us. NO COMPLAINTS!! Everything was awesome!!! I mean it. I wish I would have gotten all the pics of the food we ate. Food was amazing. Service was great. I wish I would have remember our server’s name - she was hella cool and on point. I can’t wait to bring my wife here. The vibe was great. So much cool stuff. Even the playlist in our dinning room was great. Every time I go to Vegas!!

My husband and I couldn't love this restaurant more. We got the Chef's Menu and loved everything that was brought out to us. From the warm melt in your mouth bread, kimchi fried rice with crunchy rice bits (my favorite part of rice), to the most amazing cheesecake we've EVER had. It was an amazing experience we hope to be back for the next time we're back in Vegas.

I had a reservation here and were a couple minutes late. They expressed to me that it was no big deal. Sat me and my friends. We got the tasting menu for the table. After all the food + tip it all ended up being a little over $380 for 3 of us at the table. The food was very good. Most items I enjoyed with the exception of the street corn. It was so acidic like they drenched it in lime juice or something. The thing they gave you the least of, tacos, was the best item. We were only served 1 taco each which seemed dumb when they brought out 2 plates of EVERYTHING else for us. Waitress was nice, but when I get home, lo and behold us being 3 minutes late was not okay as they said it was. They charged me $75 as a late fee even after we spent almost $400 in their establishment. Just on principle I don't think I'll ever be back at this place because after spending so much with them, they felt entitled to take that late fee anyway.

Kaleb S — Google review

The food was awesome, and I loved our dinner. Our group had a private room off to one side so we missed some of the energy and bustle of the main dining area, but that was probably okay since it got really loud in the main area too!The food was absolutely innovative and delicious!

Jeff G — Google review

Wow!It was my first time in Vegas, and this was the only restaurant that was on my list of absolute must-dos, and it absolutely did not disappoint.Came with my partner for date night, and they (extremely graciously!) did a vegan version of the tasting menu for me, while allowing my partner to do the regular non-vegan version. The miso squash was an absolute standout, but the eggplant schnitzel was a close second. The co*cktails (we both had the watermelon) were delicious and well-presented. The shaved ice was a showstopping dessert, and such a large portion that I think I only managed to eat a third of it! Even my usually kimchi-averse partner loved the fried rice- the vegan version is kimchi-less, sadly for me, but I'm sure no less delicious. Our server (Austin, I believe - though this was a few weeks ago so I'm not 100%) was attentive and friendly, the food was fantastic, and the cool bodega-speak easy vibe absolutely can't be beat- the Pac Man arcade cabinet is a nice touch.

Jayme R — Google review

You’re paying more for the atmosphere than the food. The food is decent, fairly yummy on a few items actually, but it is just way overpriced. Came here on a Thursday night with a couple of friends who are from out of town. One of them has had this place on his list for years as he is a big Roy Choi fan.He ordered the Chef’s dinner, and this apparently requires “whole table participation”. At $75 per person, I guess that’s on par for strip pricing but I could’ve had a much better meal for far less if I just drove 2 miles over the Spring Mountain Rd. and hit up any of the Korean joints there.$6 for a small cup of soda (free refills if you can find the server). $19 for a plate of sub-standard lumpia. $50 for the tip. $350 for 3 people. Not worth it and won’t be coming back.
